"Everything we do is infused with the energy with which we do it. If we're frantic, life will be frantic. If we're peaceful, life will be peaceful. And so our goal in any situation becomes inner peace."

- Marianne Williamson

EquiAware

Have you ever watched a gymnast and wondered in awe what it would feel like to have that much body awareness and control? Equiaware helps your horse become more like the gymnast or perhaps we should say: restores him to a young horse before injury, incorrect training or old age started to affect his movements and the joy of motion.

Proprioception and body awareness are the focus of this component of Equispeak.

Equiaware may be started after the initial introduction of the work in Equispeak. As long as you and your horse have a clear understanding of the marker signal and have the first two letters of alphabet well on their way, you can play with some of the exercises here.

Equiaware helps the horse become more aware of how to use their own body to improve core strength, topline, balance and strength. Just like humans learn Pilates to help keep their bodies sound or get them sound again after an injury, Equiaware can help your horse in the same way.

It starts with simple leg lifts and proceeds to work on platforms.
Then we add in shaped belly lifts and rock backs that can be taken all the way into the school halt.
It is all done in the spirit of play and fun while helping the horse to regain their joy of moving and feeling their bodies.
